Essential Job Functions
  • Safely and proficiently operates computer tomography and related equipment
  • Produces diagnostic radiographs
  • Provides for patient safety
  • Ensures the operational status of equipment
  • Ensures that required forms are filled out
  • Follows radiology department workflow of starting and completing exams in ORCHID
  • Obtains and interprets examination-related information in terms of the patient's needs
  • Interacts appropriately with medical center staff, patients, and their relatives/visitors, and external agencies
  • Maintains standards of professional behavior established to enhance quality of service
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment and work area
  • Adheres to established policies and procedures
  • Ensures that required forms and/or requests for Radiology exams are approved, financially cleared, or canceled prior to scheduling patients
  • Assists physicians, nurses, and patients with providing needed written instructions for radiology exams
  • Monitors area for safety and cleanliness. Assures a safe and sanitary environment for patients and personnel
  • Coordinates the flow of outpatients and inpatients to avoid delays in radiology exams
  • Performs assignments in an independent and effective manner
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in computed tomography
  • Dependable, resourceful and flexible
  • Able to work all shifts
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish)
  • Experience with ORCHID
  • Excellent customer service

Requirements
This position is open to all County of Los Angeles employees who currently hold the payroll title of Radiologic Technologist, Special Procedures and have successfully passed their probation.
