The Division of Organizational Development and Training leads the Department of Public Health's staff development and training efforts to ensure that the Department's resources are appropriately deployed to meet the Department needs.

Essential Job Functions
  • Analyze, monitor, and track the program budget including the Net County Cost and the CDC's Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant. Prepare budget and budget justification for expenditures
  • Serve as the Administrative Liaison between ODT and DPH Human Resources to lead in recruitment, opening exams, interview candidates, and other HR activities
  • Manage the DPH Tuition Reimbursement Program
  • Supervise administrative staff and manage ODT's administrative/clerical activities (e.g., equipment/supplies maintenance and inventories, procurement, policies/procedure maintenance).

Requirements
Must currently be a permanent Los Angeles County employee who holds the payroll item of Administrative Assistant II.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong and effective oral and written and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to work professionally with persons of all levels within DPH
  • Experience in supervision
