About the Role

As a Dental Assistant you will assist a Dentist and/or Dental Hygienist in the provision of services to a patient. We need someone who can perform basic dental procedures, such as cleanings and patient x-rays, and maintain complex client records with utmost confidentiality. The ideal candidate for this position has an orthodontic background and experience working with patients of all ages. Certified as a Dental Assistant and Spanish Speaking Preferred.

Location: 1840 Green Bay Road, Highland Park, IL

Hours: Monday and Wednesday: 10:30am-6:30pm and Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30am-4:30pm

Skills and Experience:

  • Responsible for maintaining dental operatory in a hygienic manner, including items of equipment utilized in the provision of direct patient care.
  • Cleans and sterilizes dental instruments and returns to proper storage after use.
  • Assist in exposure, processing and mounting of dental radiographs and keeping of radiographs as part of a patient’s dental record.
  • Informs supervisor of material shortages and necessity to reorder.
  • Prepares materials or medications for use by dentist or dental hygienist and delivers them as required in the treatment of patients.
  • Participates in expanded duties allowed by DRE of Illinois for preventative procedures as trained.
  • Maintains dental equipment and log entries per designated time frames.
  • Allows flexibility in scheduling of staff for program efficiency in the dental clinics.
  • Keeps accurate record of patient visits.

Education, Qualifications, and Certification:

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Certified Dental Assistant preferred.
  • Bi-Lingual Spanish speaking preferred.
  • Certified as a Dental Assistant highly preferred
  • Certification in Sealant and Coronal Polishing within 6 months is required.
