Job Description

Radiation Control Specialists determine compliance with State and federal regulation pertaining to radiation; inspect and investigate complaints involving radiation sources and radiation producing devices. This position is located with the Division of Public and Behavioral Health, Radiation Control Program in Carson City or Las Vegas, Nevada. The position is specifically responsible to license, inspect and investigate ionizing radiation sources statewide to determine potential hazards to the public; implement radiation control regulations adopted by the Nevada State Board of Health pursuant to NRS 459 (radioactive materials/X-ray). In addition, the position will be responsible for continued development of radiation producing machine program inspection procedures, program regulatory analysis and development and program staff training. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE AT ANY TIME BASED ON THE AMOUNT OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED.
