Job Description

Under general direction, plans, supervises and participates in the work of an engineering or planning unit; oversees and performs complex, professional engineering duties for a number of functional areas, including CIP project planning/design, engineering project management, environmental resource planning, compliance monitoring and energy management; and performs related duties as assigned.

Senior Engineer is the supervisory and advanced professional-level class in the engineering class series. Staffing for the class could be assigned to several Agency divisions/departments, including Engineering & Construction, Environmental Planning & Compliance, and Maintenance. Incumbents may supervise and/or participate in complex professional engineering, planning and project management work requiring advanced levels of professional training/experience and registration as a Professional Engineer. Assignments are typically broad in scope, requiring the exercise of independent judgment and initiative in achieving results and coordinating the work with other Agency departments and external consultants, contractors and public/private entities.
