About Our Job While this position pay rage is listed as 14.74 - $21.51, the hiring rate for this position is $14.74. The Social Enrichment team is devoted to actively engaging Denver's youth through the facilitation of programming that promotes learning, health, and the development of important life skills in a fun and safe environment. The team is looking for Recreation Instructors to join our movement in developing and implementing the next Night Moves Program that empowers youth ages 13-19 to make positive, healthy choices through engaging teen-centered programming. Our Recreation Instructors: Provide instruction to teens in organized recreational program, classes and activities Organize, lead and teach a variety of teen focused recreation programs, activities and classes Develop curriculum or instructional plans to achieve established objectives Execute instructional plans using prescribed and accepted teaching methods, including coaching, group and individual instruction Provide safe and supportive learning environment for all participants Effectively communicates with participants, parent/guardians and the general public. Answers questions effectively and appropriately. Follows up with customers as necessary Set up and take down necessary equipment prior to and after classes or games and including cleaning and organizing Review completed program participant evaluation tools and uses findings to increase program and instructional effectiveness Assist in the organization and administration of special events Perform other related duties as assigned or requested Our Recreation Instructors will primarily work nights and weekends, 6-15 hours a week. Positions are open at the following Recreation Centers: St. Charles, 3777 Lafayette St Green Valley Ranch, 4890 Argonne Wy Swansea, 2650 E. 49th Ave La Alma, 1325 W 11th Ave This is an on-call position which will work no more than 39 hours per week and is not eligible for benefits. On-call positions may have routine or variable work schedules. About You We are looking for engaged community members who are looking to give back to our future generation. You must be willing to work with a range of peers ages 13-19 and have an understanding of the struggles and development needs of this age group. Our ideal candidate: Will be passionate about giving back to their community Will be able to work and communicate with a range of individuals Experience working with teens ages 13-19 in a programming or mentorship program Regular availability for Friday and Saturday nights along with some weekend days We realize your time is valuable, so please do not apply unless you have at least the following required minimum qualifications: Education: Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate Experience: One (1) year of experience in assisting in the operation and instruction of organized recreation activities License(s)/Certifications: Requires certification in CPR/First Aid within 6 months of hire.
