Project Objective #1 Complete Milwaukee Succeeds and VISTA onboarding. Member Activities: Attend Pre-service Orientation or PSO Blend. Complete Milwaukee Succeeds onboarding plan, which will include meeting key stakeholders associated with this position, attending network and enterprise-wide meetings, and one-on-one meetings with supervisor focused on onboarding. Complete Greater Milwaukee Foundation onboarding meetings with department heads in order to better understand GMF’s mission, its place in the community, and understand how community foundations operate. Review materials compiled by previous VISTA highlighting the progress of the initiative since August 2016. Project Objective #2 Execute and manage community engagement plan. Member Activities: Work with the Milwaukee Succeeds team to access community engagement across the enterprise. Develop staff skills at all levels of the organization to create a culture of engagement. Provide consultation, training and assistance to staff and volunteers on implementing engagement tools. Ensure that the needs of culturally and economically diverse communities are met, and identify and remove barriers to participation. Use training, one-on-one interviews, and small group meetings and other techniques to facilitate engagement of residents in taking initiative to solve community problems. Provide assistance coordinating volunteers for high priority projects. Help lead the planning team of the Milwaukee Succeeds annual community event. Work with the Data Manager and Data Coordinator to develop performance measures for documenting levels of community engagement. Participate in On the Table planning team, lead outreach in the education sector. Identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies for integrating improvements into our operations. Project Objective #3 Execute communications strategy. Member Activities: Work alongside Community Engagement Manager to carry out communication plan. Develop written content for blog and other published articles; assist in website maintenance. Create collateral for partnership; work with colleagues to identify content needs and execute projects. Collaborate with Community Engagement Manager on Annual Report. Support social media management when needed. Identify opportunities for improvement and develop strategies for integrating improvements into our operations.
